SALT OF THE
EARTH.
Sir,
It’s in our
news that a priest has been caught in the act of sodomy. What is to be done with
him today? And Mat 5:13 states: You are the salt of the earth but if salt has
become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing
anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under the foot of men.
Answer:
First
forgive the priest. Next defrock him. There is no other option.
About Mat
5:13. That referred to some temple priests who had their hands in the till. (The
apostles were being advised not to become like some of them) But it can also be
applied to this incident as well.
